Despite No Viable Eggs, I Conceived a Child!

A necessary surgery when I was younger removed the possibility of me ever having a baby. My uterus was left intact, but damage to my fallopian tubes left me without any viable eggs. Yet after I got married, we found a San Diego fertility clinic that helped me bear a child. An anonymous egg donor made it possible for me to conceive from my husband’s sperm. It meant a whole lot to me to be able to give birth to our daughter, even though I could not contribute my genetics. In fact, given the medical issues I had growing up, it is probably a good thing. This little girl is still 100 percent ours. I love her with all of my heart. I carried her for nine months and gave birth to her four years ago. If it wasn’t for the medical technology and a nameless donor, we would not have a daughter.
